ORTHODONTICS

In this field of dentistry the dentist uses different type of orthodontic procedures to correct any problem with your teeth.

You will need to ask your dentist to inform you better of the procedure that you may need.

Preventive Dentistry

This is it! Your dentist will tell you that this is the best way to have a healthy smile all the time, if you visit him at least every six months for a check up and have good oral hygiene. Pit and fissure sealants

Sealants rate as one of the most effective preventive measures, yet in actually, only about 9-10% of dentist regularly place sealants.

Some of the reason for this surprisingly low representation is related to insurance coverage and some to the need for more education. Evaluations, however, showed that sealant technology had not really improved much in the last 12-24 years! So with this in mind ask your dentist to tell you more about sealants.

Gum Disease

Periodontal (gum) disease is an inflammation or infection of gums and bone that support the teeth. It’s caused by bacteria in plaque (the sticky, nearly colorless that constantly forms on your teeth).
Symptoms

  • Gums that bleed during brushing or flossing
  • Changes in the way your teeth fit together when you bite
  • Teeth that have shifted or loosened
  • Pus coming from between tour teeth and gums
  • Red, puffy gums
  • Gum tenderness or pain
  • Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in your mouth
  • Teeth that look longer because your gums have receded
  • Gums that have separated form your teeth

Sleep Silent Guard

(Snoring Prevention Device)
It is estimated that in the United States of America more than 80 million people snore while sleeping. Considering snorer’s spouses and children, as many as 160 million people are negatively affected by snoring. Dentist can now prescribe an affordable custom made prevention snoring device. This oral device is flexible, thin and quite comfortable fort the wearer. It has also exhibited excellent clinical success for preventing annoying and unhealthful snoring.

The sleep silent guard positions the lower jaw into a forward position by means of special connectors. These upper and lower forms are custom laminated with heat and pressure to dentist’s model of the mouth. They fit precisely and are very comfortable since they are only 2mm thick.

Sleep silent guard does not interfere with breathing through the mouth. Even in cases of congested nasal passages the device prevents snoring and allows uninhibited oral breathing. Small movements of the jaw are possible while wearing the sleep silent guard help promote deeper, more restful sleep by preventing snoring.

Sport Mouth guard

The American national youth sport foundation estimates that over 5 million teeth will be knocked out in sporting activities this year. These oral traumas will happen to children, high school and college level athletes. In fact dental injuries are the most common type of oral facial injury sustained during participation in sports.
